HOH! Hybrid Zero Emission House

The Green Technology Center, in collaboration with the University of Nova Gorica and external experts from the company ADAL d.o.o., has developed a conceptual design for the spatial layout of a green infrastructure system. The team, consisting of dr. Saša Dobričić, mag. Marco Acri, Ana Jež, and Nika Guzelj, has designed the concept for the emerging building of the GTC, named HOH!, which combines innovation, sustainability, and functionality.

The HOH! building is designed to include co-working spaces, lecture halls, and administrative offices, with the majority of the space dedicated to a laboratory system that extends outdoors to encourage innovative research and experimentation. The spaces are interconnected by spacious walkways and green islands.

A special focus is placed on renewable energy systems, which include climate sensors on the roof, a solar power plant, a phytoremediation pool, a chimney for passive ventilation, and more.

The horizontal and vertical facades act as the building’s green lungs, ensuring a clean air environment. The green rooftop garden system with integrated greenhouses allows for seasonal outdoor work and the utilization of natural resources.
